THE STRENGTH OF LITTLE HEARTS

“May the children sing, may they raise their voices, may they make the world listen, may they unite their voices and reach the sun, the truth is in them. May the children who live in peace sing and may those who are suffering pain sing for those who do not sing because their voices have been extinguished…”

This song by José Luis Perales was lived out last Thursday, October 18, 2018, by over one million children from all over the world including 17,000 of them from Malta and Gozo who gathered in their schools and homes to pray the Rosary for unity and peace in the world.

This is an unprecedented outing since the inception of this initiative in Malta, 4 years ago as against 14,000 who participated last year.  Each year the campaign gains more strength not just in Malta but all over the world.

With the collaboration of the Secretariat for Catholic Education, Fr. Reuben Gauci Coordinator, Spiritual Development in Schools, approximately children from over 54 Schools including secondary, primary, and kindergartens in Malta and Gozo lifted up their voices and hearts to God in a united prayer for peace on Thursday at 9:00 am.

In many other places such as orphanages and pre-schools,  the children weren’t the only ones who participated, but the parents, grandparents, teachers, youth leaders and catechists as well.

This very simple but powerful initiative began at a wayside shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt, in Caracas, Venezuela in 2005.

Aid to the Church in Need (Malta) would like to thank God, our Lady, the children and all those who helped for the success of this campaign.
