Father George Odafe from the Archdiocese of Kaduna is one of the many priests that you are supporting in northern Nigeria. He visited our UK Office last month and was keen to express his heartfelt thanks to you, the benefactors of ACN. He said: “Aid to the Church in Need has been a great help to me and I thank them very sincerely and I pray that God gives them the strength to carry on their good works.”
Fr George shared with us how his diocese in Kaduna has survived long-term violence at the hands of Boko Haram. He told us that they feel as though they have been through the eye of the storm having endured a spate of attacks which swept through the region in 2011.
He witnessed the bombing of churches and brutal murder of priests including his close friend, who was martyred just two years after ordination to the priesthood.
