Since 2003, Islamic extremists have been blowing up churches, kidnapping clerics, looting shops and attacking Christians.

Iraq is a dangerous and difficult place for everyone there but especially for Christians.  Assassinations, kidnappings for ransom, expulsions from villages and towns of whole communities and illegal occupation of properties remain common throughout the country.

ACN is providing spiritual and material aid, including food, medicine and accommodation for Christians fleeing persecution. This is only possible through your support, compassion and generosity.

The Christian presence in Iraq is on a knife-edge, and they need aid, as they fight to stay.

ACN has committed to helping the Christian population of Iraq as they struggle to survive in the region. During a recent fact-finding mission led by Neville Kyrke-Smith, National Director ACN (UK) Arcbishop Bashar Warda of Erbil, Iraq asked us to “Please tell our stories” and said the refugees fleeing persecution needed support with “health, housing and education.
